The resident district commissioner Kiryandongo Peter Debele has asked people with disabilities to stop stigmatizing themselves.
While addressing the masses gathered at Kiryandongo C.O.U play grounds on 18th December to commemorate the international day of people with disabilities, Peter Debele said people with disabilities have always stigmatized themselves when it comes to accessing services from government.

Kiryandongo general hospital laboratory has been accredited by the South African National Accreditation System-SANAS. This sets a national record for Kiryandongo being the first internationally accredited public hospital laboratory.

The Bududa community who were resettled in Kiryandongo district following the 2010 landslides in Bududa have assured the minister for disaster preparedness Musa Ecweru of their happy stay and existence in KIryandongo district. This was during an impromptu visit by the minister to Bududa community on Tuesday 30^th October 2018 at Panyadoli Hills primary school to find out if the allegations that the people who were resettled went back to their initial home area Bududa.

A very small trading center with only three commercial buildings serving as produce stores, with less than 200 people between 1991 and 1992 is what describes the most prominent town in KIryandongo district.

A well-developed road network is a key factor to development in both rural and urban areas in Uganda. However, road sector is challenged by a number of factors ranging from financing to weather.

The Chief Administrative Officer Kiryandongo has assured the parliamentary committee on government assurance that the government of Uganda is on course as regards fulfilling the project promises made to the people of Kiryandongo district.

David Wamburu Wasikye, the CAO Kiryandongo was addressing the members of the Committee on government assurance on September 18, 2018 at the district headquarters who had paid a visit to Kiryandongo to monitor and find out the extent of implementation of the promises made on the floor of parliament in relation to Kiryandongo.

The commission of land inquiry has visited Kiryandongo District for fact finding so as to establish and verify complaints related to land in Kiryandongo.

Kiryandongo District local government officials have inspected the Karuma Hydro Power Project so as to establish the progress of implementation.

The team of officials led by the Chairman LCV, Charles Ntairehoki and the CAO, David Wamburu Wasikye included the local council leaders from the sub counties, town councils as well as the technical staff.

The ministry of Public Service has trained the Officers from Kiryandongo District Local Government on Performance and Management.

The training organized by the Principal Human Resource Officer Kiryandongo, Violet Murungi at the Youth Resource Centre on June 14, 2018 targeted the Heads of Departments, Town clerks, Medical in charges of health centers and other Officers.

The training is in line with capacity building efforts of the Human resource department aimed at improving the performance of Officers so as the set targets are met for timely service delivery.

The chairman LCV Kiryandongo District, Charles Ntairehoki has called upon the Ministry of health and the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development to intervene immediately and respond to the shortages caused by the tragic accident which occurred on Friday 25^th May 2018 at Nanda in Kiryandongo District.

The chairman noted that the theatre, surgical and casualty wards were greatly affected in terms of supplies. All medicines and supplies such as gloves, antibiotics, IV fluids and fuel were used during an emergency.
