Kiryandongo District authorities have launched the drilling of deep boreholes and construction of production wells worth 477.5 million shillings in a renewed push to achieve 100 percent safe water coverage across the district.

Kiryandongo District authorities have launched key health infrastructure projects aimed at improving service delivery and strengthening medical waste management across the district.

Authorities in Kiryandongo district have launched a 530 million Uganda shillings road construction project in Diima and Nyamahasa sub-counties under the Uganda Support to Municipal Infrastructure Development-Additional Funding (USMID-AF).

Baylor Uganda with support from PEPFAR has donated medical equipment and IEC materials to eight Health Center IIs in Kiryandongo District. The equipment donated include 7 examination screens,4 examination beds,2 adult weighing scales,5 infant weighing scales,5 BP machines,5 thermometers,7 stadiometers,3 fetoscopes,6 benches and 6 maternal retesting IEC materials.

Kiryandongo District leaders have launched livelihood projects worth 50 million shillings to 12 beneficiary groups in 12 sub counties. The projects launched have been funded through Ministry of Bunyoro affairs in the Office of the Prime Minister for Financial year 2023/2024.

Kiryandongo District leaders have vowed to decline CMD Investments Limited a company which was contracted to construct the 3.36 billion Kigumba seed secondary school on future projects. The leaders cite inconsistency and failure to adhere to the contract terms evidenced during the construction of both Kitwara and Kigumba seed secondary schools by the same contractor.

Kiryandongo District staff have bid farewell to the retired DHO Dr. Mutyaba Imaam who attained mandatory retirement age on November 30,2023. Dr. Mutyaba has been the DHO of Kiryandongo since its inception in July 2010. He joined service in 1990 as a dental surgeon in Masindi and in 2006 he was promoted to a medical superintendent of Masindi General hospital. Dr. Mutyaba later joined Kiryandongo District on cross transfer in 2010 as a DHO- the position he has held until his retirement.

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development has commenced the exploration of Petroleum along the Kyoga basin in Kiryandongo District. This development was revealed by during the stakeholder sensitization meeting held on Wednesday January 17, 2024 at Kiryandongo District headquarters.

Kiryandongo District together with Ministry of Water and Environment have handed over sites for the construction of solar piped water systems and sanitation facilities in Mutunda,Gaspa and Nyakabaale rural growth centres. The sites were handed over to Summit Projects Limited a company which was contracted at a sum of 13.7 billion shillings.

Kiryandongo District has received 11 motorcycles from Ministry of Health with support from United Nations High Commission for Refugees.

The motorcycles received were handed over to the health facility in charges to aid their movement while offering services and outreaches to both the refugees and the host community.
