ROADS COMMITTEE MONITORS WORKS
Kiryandongo District Roads committee members led by their chairperson Linos Ngompek who is also the area member of parliament for Kibanda North have monitored the progress of road works in the district. The District Roads Committee is comprised of the members of parliament, District chairman, Chief Administrative Officer and the District Engineer.
The roads monitored include the 11.3 KM Siriba-Kalwara-Kiryampungura road, Kiryandongo-Kitwara road, Kigumba-Kiigya –kinyara-Masindi port road and the Ndabulye –Kimengo road.
During the monitoring, Linos Ngompek asked the District Engineer to identify roads which needed emergency intervention so as to ease lobbying.
Hellen Kahunde the woman MP called for spot improvement along the Kiryandongo-Kitwara road as the district awaited the solicitor general to clear the 2 billion Shillings contract for the works under DRDIP.
The District authorities also handed over an assortment of medical equipment including bed sheets, blankets, cylinder carriers, cylinder keys, cylinder spanners and beds to Kiryandongo General Hospital and other health centers including Kaduku HCII, Kigumba HCIII, Apodorwa HCII and Diika HCII. The medical equipment handed over to the health facilities was lobbied from Ministry of Health by the three members of parliament.
During the handover of the medical equipment, Dan Muganga the RDC Kiryandongo commended the team work exhibited by the political leadership of Kiryandongo.
