KIRYANDONGO LAUNCHES 2.5 BILLION PROJECTS

Kiryandongo district authorities have launched the construction of 2.5 billion Development Response to Displacement Impact project-DRDIP across the district.

The projects launched are the construction of a staff house at Panyadoli Hills health center III, two blocks of 3 class rooms at Opok primary school, general ward at Panyadoli health center IV and full rehabilitation of 3.9 KMs Congodoki-Kiryandongo High school road.

While addressing the community of Panyadoli hills during the launch, Kiryandongo district chairman Edith Aliguma Adyeri called upon the health workers to respect their duty schedules so as to deliver timely services to the communities they serve.

Aliguma added that the district is prioritizing health infrastructure improvement in a bid to ease upgrading of health center IIs to health center IIIs which will improve on service delivery. She further urged the community to participate in monitoring the works in order to deliver quality structures.

However, Dan Muganga the RDC Kiryandongo declined to launch the comstruction of the 704 million shillings maternity ward at Masindi port health center III citing variations in the bricks found on site with those recommended in the bills of quantities.

Kiryandongo district has been implementing DRDIP projects since 2018 and 26 billion shillings have been invested in livelihood, infrastructure and sustainable environment and natural resources management.
