Authorities in Kiryandongo district have sworn in the members of the district land board. The ceremony which was presided over by the Chief Administrative Officer took place on August 20, 2019 at the district headquarters.
The sworn in land board comprises of Fred Byakagaba the Chairperson, Nestore Onencan, Hellen Apolot, Gladys Kabajungu and Edward Odong as members.
Fred Byakagaba the chairperson district land board promised not to let down the district and was ready to work under any circumstances.
Dorothy Ajwang the Chief Administrative Officer Kiryandongo assured the newly sworn in members of the land board that the district was committed to ensure that they were inducted settled in and supported to execute their work.
Peter Debele the RDC Kiryandongo called upon the members of the land board to be very careful with the decisions they make since they are a jurisdiction. Debele added that ever since his posting in Kiryandongo, the only problem he faces is land. “You know the problems here as far as land is concerned in Kiryandongo and it is the only problem that I have.” Said Debele.
Charles Ntairehoki Amooti the district chairman urged the members of the land board to protect the integrity they have upheld for years. “You must have a name to protect; you have already made your name so it is upon you to spoil your name or uphold it.” Ntairehoki urged.
Ntairehoki also called upon the board members to be bold enough and defend their decisions taken as the district land board.
The district land board had last sat on February 27, 2018 before the five year term of the then board had expired.
