Karuma Auction Market Relaunched
Karuma auction market has been relaunched along the Karuma-Okwece road. The relaunching of the auction market took place on Monday January 06, 2020 at Karuma Catholic church following the community appeal to relocate it from Sino hydro market back to its initial venue.
According to Lydia Tusabe the acting Town clerk Karuma, the auction market has been non operational for close to six years following its relocation from the former Obote street now Karuma-Okwece road to Sino hydro market which seemed an inconvenience to the vendors.
The auction market which has been relaunched in a bid to raise local revenue will be operating on the first Monday of every month and will be tendered.
Nelson Kidega the area councilor appealed to the people of Karuma to take part in garbage collection and management since it is still a big challenge which can not fully be handled by the less locally raised revenue.
