Ensure Value For Money, LCV Tells Contractors

The LCV Chairman Kiryandongo district has called upon the contractors to observe the bills of quantity and deliver quality works upon completion so as to ensure value for money. “The contractor, Pioneer Construction Limited; from the foundation to the finishing, it is not easy to maintain one contractor. The first floor was wonderful and it is from that background we said that if all is possible, Pioneer Construction Limited must do the finishing. The district has injected in a lot of money and therefore there must be value for money.” Charles Ntairehoki said.
This was during the launching of the fourth phase construction of the district administration block on 24/04/2019. The construction of the administration block started in June 2011 and upon completion it will have 81 offices, 4 boardrooms, a conference hall, a state-of-the-art council chambers and gallery; enough to accommodate all departments, sections, District Executive and Council.
Charles Ntairehoki Amooti the district chairman also thanked the district council for prioritizing the completion of the administration block despite having other crucial projects.
The Chief Administrative Officer Kiryandongo, Jacob Batemyetto thanked the contractor for having accepted to take on the mega task of constructing the administration block from the first up to the fourth phase.
According to Samuel Muhumuza the Acting District Engineer, the fourth phase which is at a cost of 341,363,000/= is expected to offer 11 offices ready for occupation by 30/06/2019.
Another project which was launched on the same day is the construction of a class room block with two classes at Kyamugenyi C.O.U Primary School in Kigumba Sub-county at a cost of 49 million shillings.
